Video killed the user manual

I was at my mother’s house the other day, showing her the latest build of 2Large2Email. My mother, Leslee, isn’t the most advanced computer user in the world, but she can navigate her way around reasonably well. The problem is, new things scare her a little. Wikipedia makes her eyebrows rise. She leaves other websites if they’re too complex. Google is more her thing.

Leslee is a receptionist and is often tasked with sending large PDF files to her clients. Like everyone else, her larger attachments bounce. When I told her about a way she could send large files (2Large2Email!) she was pretty excited. So, I showed her. “Where are the videos?” she asked. Err, what videos?

And then it hit me. Imagine being able to log into a new website and see, right there, a short video on how to proceed! So that’s what we’re doing. When you log into 2Large2Email for the first time there will be a short “show me how” movie to get you moving right along. The second time you log in it won’t be there, but you can always access it again from any screen.

Although 2Large2Email has been made to be as simple as possible it’s always possible that someone might like to refer to a user manual for some features. We’re pleased to be able to offer them a much faster, cleaner and more effective way of getting started. Thanks, Leslee!
