The Thrill Of The Hunt

It’s always exciting and extremely rewarding to come up with something that works and is well received by people.

Back in the day when my team was tasked with managing my college’s online publication, we really had our work cut out for us. Our predecessors’ policy of just ensuring that the website was functional and not publishing up to date features and stories wasn’t very effective (to say the least) at getting people onto it, and no one, not even people from the college paid much attention to the website at all. It then became a cycle of undoing. As web traffic to the site decreased, so did the enthusiasm and moral of it’s writers, and it showed in the material they wrote, which in turn caused web traffic to spiral further.

The first thing we did when we came on board was to scrap the whole website and start from the ground up. We had to rebrand our image and distance ourselves (short of changing our name) as much as possible from the old design and layout. Next, we went out of our way to actively seek out corporate partners such as movie distributors and game publishers to ensure we’d get our hands on their press releases as well as the latest products they had to offer, and other similar content providers for ad and content exchange oppotunities. Being a student initiative, it wasn’t easy getting any sort of partnership going with proper functioning businesses, but eventually our perseverance paid off and within a month, the positive effect our actions had were quite telling. Because we were getting all this new exposure, our contributors and writers were more forthcoming and we had a larger talent pool to select from. This in turn made the new website a success as within half a year, it achieved over a million hits.

Now I don’t intend to boast but working with the team here at 2Large2Email resembles my college website experience to a certain extent minus the part about predecessors. We’re extremely pleased that despite the competition, people are still able to recognize the utility and effectiveness of the service we provide and support it. This in turn makes us all the more encouraged to further improve and innovate our brainchild, and as a business, grow along with everyone.

You Never Know

You just never know when you might need something or when it might become useful to you. One of our colleagues recently came by and told us about how her brother who’s an architect was raving about the service we provide here with 2Large2Email. Initially when 2Large2Email was launched, we were giving out free accounts for people to try out and our colleague’s brother got one. And although he did not see much use for it within his profession then, he hung on to it and is now another of our many satisfied customers. What’s more, he’s recommending 2Large2Email to all his clients too!

How to personalize the style of your 2Large2Email account.

Did you know that you can change the look and feel of your 2Large2Email account pages and emails?

It’s easy to add a logo, change colors and add unique messages to your account. Below are some examples on how to make your account have the look and feel of your own company and brand.

1. Add your own Logo

All you have to do is click in the top left hand corner of your account page in the box that says “Your Logo Here”. You can then browse for an image on your computer and upload it to your account. If you want to change or delete the logo, click on the preferences link and then the Style/Branding tab. The logo will appear on your account page, email template and on your dropbox page.

2. Change the colors of your email template

You can change the color of the header, sidebar and header text of the email that is sent out to your recipients when they receive large files notification emails from you. Just log in to your account, click on the Preferences menu option, then choose the Style/Branding tab. You can enter the Hex color code if you know it or just click in the box and a color chart will appear for you to choose your colors. Click the preview link to test your color combinations, then when you are happy click update and start sending large files with emails that match your own company colors and branding.

New iPhone web version.

We have just finished an iPhone version of the 2Large2Email account pages.

It doesn’t have all the functions of the normal account page, but you can login to your account and see all the files you have. You can send or delete files in your account. So if you are out of the office and you have a large file you need to send someone, just login to your 2Large2Email account on your iPhone, select the file, choose the recipient and hit Send. They will receive an email from you with a link to download the file. It’s that easy!

To access the iPhone version just go to accountname/2large2email.com/m

Just add a /m on the end of your normal account url.
